Bahahah oh gurrrl…I love it when people get ahold of clips like this and make them hilarious. Don’t even get me started on the G.I. Joe clips…love them. Dubbed cartoons have made my day today.

OH and p.s….in honor of the winter Olympics starting next week (yesss!), my new header honors one of the greatest Olympic rivalries of ALL TIME : Tanya Harding vs Nancy Kerrigan. HOLLER. I’m going to keep putting different olympic-theme headers up for the duration of the olympics..all which will be AMAZING. Gnite.

I’m on the job hunt like a MOTHER. Seriously. It’s the first thing I do and think about when I wake up in the morning. I’ve decided not to work this season for the Rangers due to the fact that I wanted to find a more stable and beneficial job…well…that might’ve been a huge mistake. And also MTC is waayy less than stellar right now…it sucks actually. I hate going there. I never get scheduled and the work environment is out of control. SO…i’m trying my hardest to get out of there and fast. I just want to find the perfect job but I guess i’m going to have to let my guard down a little because my $$ situation is starting to SUCK reealllyy bad. Thank God for my tax return coming in soon and my birthday this month…yahh I still get a little cash for my b-day from the fam even though i’m going to be freakin’ 25! Weird. Quarter of a century. It’s been a pretty good life so far…I just need to get through this little rough patch.

Josh on the other hand has been working like a mad man which is good because he can afford put food on our table! Nahh but yah he has been doing really well lately and I’m proud of him He’s not very excited about tomorrow because he has a 13 hour day (10 am – 11 pm)….SICK. But He’ll have all of thursday off to recuperate.

So yah this is going to be a fairly short blog because it is late and my eyes are getting heavy…but it does feel good to get back in the swing of things blog-wise. The blog’s 1 year b-day is coming up on Feb 11 whhattt! Seems like yesterday when I decided I would share my random thoughts with the world again. More tomorrow I PROMISE…later!

Josh and I are planning to head down to Klein on the 22nd…so next tuesday I guess. He will stay until Christmas Eve morning and then drive back up to Glen Rose to be with his family on Christmas Eve and then Christmas morning. Then he is going to meet us in Grapeland on Christmas day afternoon and attend festivities there. Then after that we will pack up and head to Glen Rose again Christmas night so I can celebrate Christmas with his family. ALOT of driving. But it’s all worth it! I love this time of year…being with the fam and gift-giving. My mom has some pretty awesome plans as well…on Christmas day she will travel across the world to Tokyo, then Singapore and then on to Malaysia to stay with gregg through the new year and come back around january 6th or so. That’s pretty cool! I told her not to bring home any cute little asian babies haha – SERIOUSLY MOM! But do bring me back neat foreign land things…SWEET!

Dad/coach of the year right there! Well dad of the century…haha. Anyway so the first half did NOT go so hot for Klein. We started out strong….they scored right away and then we immediately took it right down the field and scored. We thought it was going to be a shootout at that point…but they had a heck of a running back in Hershel Simms. It’s like a coated himself in butter or something…he was quick and fast. In the first half, Abilene dominated the game on both sides of the ball. As much as I hate to say it, it was true. The majority of the damage was on the ground with a few WR screens thrown in to. Abilene’s kicker missed extra point after second touchdown (which was HUGE) and then Abilene tried to make it up on 2 point conversion on next touchdown and ball fell incomplete at the feet of a receiver who probably would have scored the 2 points (also HUGE). Klein just could NOT get it going on offense…way too many 3 and outs and against this Abilene team, we couldn’t do that. The score was 22-7 at half …so the game was definitely not out of reach for sure. Klein did have the advantage of getting the ball first in the 2nd half so we were thinking at the time ok we CAN DO THIS! Aaron and Christie had also made the trip from San Marcus which was awesome! It was good to have the brother there too cheering Klein on…but there were many times in that first half where he wanted to suit up and go nail somebody lol.

So the 2nd half…Abilene forces ANOTHER 3 and out on Klein’s first possession which was not what we needed. Abilene’s other back breaks off 65 yd touchdown run. The score now is 29-7 and things are looking reeallyy shakey. Abilene appeared to be about to put the game away on 4 and something from inside the Bearkat 10 yd line when #18 makes an AMAZING one handed interception at the one yard line to kill the Abilene drive….

That was the same dude who had the 2 interceptions last weekend! That play seemed to shift Mr. Momentum  to the Klein side and we really began to play inspired football it seemed like. Dakota Barnes ended up getting a touchdown which made score 29-14. Then the 4th quarter came around..and oh boy. Both teams were slugging it out, but Klein was making adjustments and we were finally able to MOVE the ball down field. Dakota got another score with this amazing effort:

So now the score was 21-29 with about 2 mins left. Klein was pulling out everything they had…converting on multiple 4th and longs, I saw like a double reverse flee-flicker in there?!? But it was all working. And then….one of the best finishes to a football game I have ever witnessed. Abilene recovers the onside kick. Abilene only needs one first down and the game is over. The Klein defense stuffs two running plays to bring up 3rd and long. Abilene’s qb throws a pass to the running back who is brought down a couple of yards short to give Klein life. Abilene now has to punt and pins Klein deep inside the 10 yd line with 9 seconds left in the game. Right now I’m thinking oh my gosh no WAY….90 yards in 9 seconds? Abilene sends everyone into the backfield with only 2 or 3 rushers. And then this happens… Barnes out jumps 3 Abilene defenders for the ball at midfield and makes a HUGE one-handed grab….2 sec left…

Klein hurries to the line and is able to spike the ball….1 second left. Abilene throws all of their defenders back again….the ball is snapped and Klein’s QB (West) launches the ball deep to the far sideline. Klein’s recever (Family) makes the catch around the Abilene 5 yd line surrounded by 3 Eagle defenders and breaks inside to the endzone…

Right now everybody is screaming their heads off….time is expired….one defender grabs hold of his jersey and holds on for dear life as the Family lunges for the goaline. The other 2 Abilene defenders catch up to them at about the 2 yd line. Family reaches the ball out with one hand in a desperate lunge as the 3 Eagle defenders bring him down…..ONE  yard short of the goaline. Knee down….game over. Abilene hangs on for the win. Now…granted we had made the touchdown we would’ve had to go for the 2 point conversion to tie it up to take it into overtime…but man. Hah what a game. I know that was hard to read dad, but I know you’re all good and making it to the state semi-finals is awesome in itself. Yall had one heck of a team this season and it has really been fun following all things Klein football this year!! Now go shoot a huge buck…you deserve it!

So that was my take on the game…whew. Hah…I know some might wonder why I care so much about high school sports/Klein ect ect. It’s my home. It’s where I grew up and it will always be a part of me no matter how old I get. There will always be a little blue and gold beating inside my heart and when my team is doing great, I’m going to support the crap out of them! Football is something extra special though. Always has been and always will be. I thank the pops for that! You and mom always have proud parent moments? Well believe it or not Aaron and I have proud children moments as well haha.

So I know I haven’t posted all week..sorrryyy. BUT….Josh and I ventured to Waco once again on saturday to watch the Klein Bearkats take on Tyler John Tyler in the 5a state quarter finals. As mentioned before (in the previous post..) Tyler John Tyler was supposed to be a BEAST of a team (hah) and Klein had “no chance of taking this one” blah blah BLAHHH! We came to support this guy (coach of the year in my book!):

He’s a pretty cool dude….you MIGHT know him haha – good ‘ol DAD!! Well we got there and first of all it was COLD…mainly because of the wind but yah chilly chilly. We got good seats right on the 40 in the lower section but the awesome thing was we NEVER sat down….well except during half-time (which was a WHOLE different story which I will get to shortly!) but yah the crowd was super into the game which I think really helps a team. It seemed like TJT brought the ENTIRE town of Tyler but they were totally not into the game! Their whole side was packed full of people…the only time they ever made any noise was when their already defeated team came out after half-time and they started chanting “CUUUJOOOO” really loud. Didn’t help one bit! So the game started off really well for Klein…we had 2 interceptions on TJT first two possessions..this is a picture of the first one I believe (both were by the same dude #18):

The interceptions were great…they got the momentum on our side and then just took off from there! Josh told me after #18 made the 2nd interception he wanted to go down there and slap him on the helmet haha. TJT was supposed to have a really good quarterback (passing and rushing) but yahh this is what happened to him numerous times:

YAH. I mean no disrespect to Tyler John Tyler…they were only beat once coming into this game….but Klein had this game from the start. They went into half-time with a 17-0 lead and oh yes this brings me to half-time. TJT band was AMAZING . It’s one of those bands that like drops their instruments and GETS DOWN hahah. They had this announcer that would be like “hayyy that’s how we do ya HEARD” and “now it time for da booty-do” and so on and so on it was great. It was like the Grambling State or Prairieveiw A&M-esq band. And the whole time during the game their color guard would just be gettin’ down Beyonce style! Anyway, needless to say I love watching bands like that. Always entertaining! So after the half it was more of the same, however TJT did try to get themselves going. Klein just kept stuffing the ball down their throats with Dakota Barnes at the helm:

The game was awesome. Josh and I couldn’t stop talking about it even into late last night haha. I’m soso proud and happy for dad…this has truly been something great for Klein and they have another tough opponent in the Abilene War Eagles coming up on saturday. Once again, early reports are that there’s NO chance that Klein is going to win, big time underdog, Abilene is ranked #7 in the state….blah…..blah…..BLAH. Sounds awfully familiar huh? Hmmmm. I CANT WAIT!

We Got the Runs

annddd not so serious!

I seriously love all of these people! I can’t wait until March!!!!

So Josh and I got up thursday morning and headed up to Glen Rose for Thanksgiving with his family. Josh’s mom had everything ready when we got there so the house smelled realllly good. We had turkey that Josh’s dad had smoked in the huge smoker out back, a ham, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, pea salad, STUFFING..tons of stuffing, this really good mac and cheese dish Josh’s sister made, rolls, like 5 different pies….FEAST! We ate so much…I did miss Nana’s mashed potatoes though! They are hands down the best and will never be topped! Anyway, so we ate around 2 and then settled in to watch the Cowboys cream the Raiders (thank God…). At halftime we went out and threw the football – Josh played SUPER dirty and tripped me as he was falling down to the ground…so I cheap shot kicked him when we got up haha. We were all still really full so the game didn’t last very long…we retreated back in and finished watching the game all in a turkey-induced haze. The decided to spend the night in Glen Rose that night which was probably a great idea because i don’t think neither Josh nor I could’ve driven back to Arlington without falling asleep at the wheel!

The next morning we woke up…I was SUPER excited because Josh and I were going to head to Waco to watch the Klein Bearkats in the 3rd round of the state playoffs. I had told dad that if Klein were to venture up even a little bit north from Spring that I would for SURE be there! So we head out around 1:30 (the game was at 4) and it probably was going to take us about an hour and 1/2 to get to Waco from Glen Rose. Not too bad at all. The game was at Waco ISD stadium, I had never been there before but at was a REALLY nice stadium. Josh and I get there and find seats and then Nana, Uncle Bruce and Jake show up and we’re all set. I found Klein’s run through sign very amusing..

hahah notice the noose around the Christmas tree lol. We were playing South Garland….so it makes since! Anyway, so the game was GREAT. Klein had an amazing first half… it was 17-0 at halftime and when you mix THIS (sweet offense):

WOOOT!!!! Klein ended up shutting out South Garland 24-0. Awesome, awesome game. Now they have Tyler John Tyler this saturday at 2 and the same place and you can bet your sweet aunt sally that Josh and I are going to be there! Even Josh is excited to go…he likes watching the running back (pictured above #11) and hopefully it’ll be another good game in Klein’s favor. John Tyler is really good though….so alot will consider Klein the underdog. TRAP GAME CENTRAL. They have no idea what’s coming!! Excitement.

Alright I must go…Josh is being annoying and won’t leave me alone!! Must go punch him!! haha later!

They talked about AC/DC and such…Josh pretty much floated out of the place after this hahh. Well tonight we get there and we end up getting in the SAME spot as we did the last time…front row standing front and center. It was a larger venue then the previous one and the stage was raised so there would be no crotch punches this time which made things a bit less awkward. The show itself was great! He played all of my favorites, including songs that he just did with Scarlett Johansson (yes the actress..). I LOVE that album…not as much as older pete albums which he sand plenty of songs off of as well…but it’s really unique. I like Scarlett Johansson’s voice as well…it’s deep and sorta raspy. Here is a video of their song “relator” when they were on Ellen – he sang this tonight (and surprisingly imitated Scarlett’s voice disturbingly well..hah) :

There were no guitar picks this time and we left right after the show so I don’t know if he came out like he did last time…OH he did give this girl his harmonica after the last song. She was standing a couple people over from us and Josh and I were both like whaatttt! But all in all it was a great night I took a lot of pictures…here are a few of my favorites :

In other news…we won our softball game tuesday night so that means we are in the championships next week!!! We’ve come a long way since we got demolished in our first game…we haven’t lost a game since then and that’s the team we’ll be facing in the championships…it’s like a freakin movie almost haha. Little Giants…but slow pitch adult D league softball. It’s going to be great…I think we can beat this team now because we are soo much better. Gotta win that t-shirt!!!

I would like to say CONGRATS to the Klein High School football team for winning week 1 of the playoffs against Lufkin! GO DAD haha. Oh Klein…you will always have me. I’m so glad they beat Lufkin because the last time I saw them was in 2006 when they killed my brothers ’07 team…literally. Drilled them into the ground. And then last year they ended up beating them in the last seconds of their playoff game. So YAH! I listened to the game via the internets – I had to listen to the Lufkin broadcasters and they were pretty much sick to their stomachs by games end. It was awesome. So yayy dad and good luck against Cy Ridge this friday!!!

As I was listening to the game, I pretty much transported myself back to my senior year of high school. Football games, parties, sports…everything. It was fun thinking back to those times and I ended up finding some pictures of my Standleader class of ’03….

That was one tradition of Klein High School that I loved. I went through jr. high and all of high school knowing that when my senior year came around I wanted to be a standleader. For those who are not familiar…Standleaders was a group that you had to try out for and we represented Klein’s spirit and insane craziness at sporting and school events. We were like cheerleaders..but wayy better with less rules and cooler sponsors. Anyway, it was a part of my senior year and it made it pretty much awesome. Still have those blue and yellow socks too!
